Diana Herrera is a first generation Latina lighting designer located in Southern California. Her roots are based in sunny Los Angeles where she was born and raised.
She holds an MFA in lighting design from University of California, Irvine and BA in Theatre and Dance from California State University of Los Angeles. Within her time in the entertainment industry, she has designed shows from theatre to dance and everything else in between. When not designing, you can find her teaching, mentoring, assisting, or drafting. To name a few show credits, her work has taken her to work with Syracuse Stage, East West Players, South Coast Repertory, Utah Shakespeare Company, Radiance Lightworks, Center Theatre Group and Deaf West Theatre Company.  

Her passion lies in inspiring others similarly the way she was inspired by the craft of storytelling.


As an artist I always like to ground myself by remembering a saying my mother tells me, "tienes que echale ganas y ser hulimde" which translates to "you must give it your all and stay humble" because in this industry we are a community being the most vulnerable with our art and each other.
